DISCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
Dedicated DADAheads will remember that the last letter was titled ‘Cat From 2006,’ and it contained no cats, not from 2006, nor from any other year.
Instead, it contained a number of actual working discounts that none of you took advantage of. If you are reading it on December 31st, there is still time…
It also contained the great big merch drop of 2006, which you can still buy here. I’m a bit slow with fulfilling orders, please be patient.
There’s also a secret discount for the hats in the last post behind the paywall—honestly, how many reasons do I need to give you to become a honorary Paypig?
THE REAL NEW CAT FROM 2006
Anyway, I don’t really know why I titled the post ‘Cat From 2006,’ but it stuck with me, and if it stuck with you too, your patience will now be hugely rewarded with a post containing almost nothing except Cat From 2006 content.
By the way, if you’re reading my letters in your email, they are always cut off, and the cut-off point might be hard to see, but keep your eye open for that—there’s always more than meets the mail. More Cat From 2006, among other things!
If you didn’t want any Cat From 2006 content, too bad, but have an intermission.
THE BEST OF ME
For those who haven’t been reading this newsletter as diligently as they should, here are some highlights from the year 2006:
Great stuff, isn’t it? If you agree, consider becoming one of my Paypigs for extra mid-month content. If you don’t want to pay, you can always refer your so-called friends.
CAT FROM 2006-2:3D REMASTERED 4K AI UPSCALE HDTV/
And we’re back, with more Cat From 2006 content.
LISTEN TO ME
Lastly, me and another irrelevant cartoonist from the last century launched a podcast, of all things. The show is ostensibly about the Fall, but it’s very much in the same vein as this newsletter—digressive and silly, so if you don’t care about the Fall, you can still enjoy the banter.
The first three episodes are us figuring things out, but starting with ep.4 it’s all pure brilliance. Updated every Tuesday, until we die. Trust me—you don’t want to show up at the water cooler at your 90s job, and not know what we said about the Russian Wheel of Fortune, or Tom Morello’s Dangerous Truths. And if you really like what we’re doing there, consider pledging your allegiance, so I can build another Paypig Barn for the discerning patrons.
IN OTHER PEOPLE’S BOOKS
Last-lastly, this year I had a few things in a bunch of anthologies: a dense short story that I originally made for Angoulême a couple years ago, now in full-ish color in Marc Bell and Cullen Beckhorn’s Alive Outside (which is finally out), an even older strip in Sammy Harkham & Steve Weissman’s Peep, a less old strip in the last issue of Fanta’s NOW, a page in the Sputnikat Comic Jam (and there will be one in the next year, too), and lastly, a character in Andy Busc’s Main/Sidekick zine. If all goes well, I should finally have some actual new books in English in 2007, so look forward to that, and happy new year!
Not for nothing, I did try to use the Google discount but it didn’t work. I just figured whatever and bought a hat anyway! I am also really enjoying your podcast with Tom, who I knew in Buffalo when I was in grad school and he was an undergrad - printmaking class! Double yay!
